Winnipeg Jets sign Ashton Sautner to a one-year contract

The Jets went local (near Flin Flon) for today’s signing when they signed left-shot defenceman Ashton Sautner to a one-year deal. He is an undrafted coming from the Canucks system and Moose fans will recognize him as he played for Manitoba during the bubble when Vancouver placed a handful of players with the Moose.

Interestingly he was given an A to wear during his time in Manitoba. He only got into two before he was recalled back to the Canucks.

Signing of Sautner gives the Jets organization a lot (in no particular order) of left side D:

Josh Morrissey
Brenden Dillon
Logan Stanley
Ville Heinola
Dylan Samberg
Declan Chisholm
Kyle Capobianco
Ashton Sautner

I also appear on the Illegal Curve Hockey Show every Saturday on our YouTube channel as well as the Illegal Curve Post-Game Show after every single Jets game. And I occasionally jump in the play-by-play booth at Canada Life to provide colour analysis during Manitoba Moose games.
