Winnipeg Jets sign Alex Iafallo to a three-year contract extension

The Jets have struck another of their UFAs off the list as we learned that Alex Iafallo has signed a three-year extension with Winnipeg with an AAV of $3,666,666.

Now today’s news should come without any surprise as Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Free Press was the first to report back on March 11th that there was interest from the formerly pending UFA Alex Iafallo to sign an extension with the Jets.

The Eden, NY (just south of Buffalo) product is said to really enjoy the outdoors which Manitoba has plenty of and of course it helps being on a team that is seen as one that can compete for a Stanley Cup for the next few years. Iafallo has a big role on the current top line with Gabriel Vilardi out as well as getting penalty kill and power play time.
