The Winnipeg Jets have signed 2021 1st round draft pick (18th overall) Chaz Lucius to a three-year entry level contract.
Lucius played in 24 games for the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers in 2021-2022, collecting nine goals and 10 assists.
The contract starts next season with an AAV of $1.325 million. The Jets didn’t announce that Lucius had signed an ATO with the Manitoba Moose which they often do with these types of deals. Lucius was dealing with an injury to end his college season so he may not be healthy enough. Will have to wait to find out but team didn’t say anything about him signing so suspect he won’t (at least to play).
Some talk he could play in the WHL next season. He is speaking at 12 noon on Friday and we will have it covered.
