Whitby, Ontario’s Cole Perfetti put pen to paper as the Winnipeg Jets announced this morning that they have signed their 1st round selection (10th overall) from the 2020 NHL Draft to a three-year, entry-level contract with an AAV of $1,658,333.
This is how the contract breaks down according to the folks at CapFriendly:
Contract breakdown:
2020-21: $925k/80k – $500k performance bonuses
2021-22: $925k/80k – $850k PB
2022-23: $925k/80k – $850k PB
AAV: $1,658,333
Perfetti will be off to Red Deer soon for Team Canada selection camp for the 2021 World Junior Championship. With the OHL season not expected to get going until February 4th (target date) it could mean (depending on when the NHL season gets going) that he gets an extended stay with the Jets whenever the World Juniors conclude.
