Winnipeg Jets recall Oskari Salminen from the Moose on an emergency basis

Moose goalie Oskari Salminen just ended a road trip with the AHL club that concluded their regular season in Chicago on Sunday. He didn’t play in that game as it was started by Arvid Holm with Evan Cormier backing up.

The Jets announced that they have recalled Salminen on an emergency basis.

The Finnish netminder has played 39 games for Manitoba this season going 18-13-6 with a 3.06 GAA and a .896 save%. He signed a two-year contract with Winnipeg last summer.

There was some thought that Evan Cormier would be third goalie up with Jets during playoffs but that appears to be Salminen. Looks like Arvid Holm gets the Moose net for playoffs. Although as we saw last year, Cormier is very capable if needed.
