With the status of Blake Wheeler unknown (coach said they will know tomorrow) and with Ben Chiarot heading to the IR the Jets have recalled Eric O’Dell for the first time this season.

The Winnipeg Jets announced they have recalled forward Eric O’Dell from the St. John’s IceCaps of the American Hockey League. The Winnipeg Jets also announced earlier today that they have placed defenceman Ben Chiarot on IR.
O’Dell, 24, has played in 37 games this season with the St. John’s IceCaps collecting 28 points (14G, 14A) and 34 penalty minutes. O’Dell made his NHL debut with the Jets in 2013-14, playing 30 games last season while collecting seven points (3G, 4A) and 10 penalty minutes. The Ottawa, ON native led the St. John’s IceCaps in scoring during the 2012-13 season with 55 points (29G, 26A) in 59 games. In his AHL career, O’Dell has collected 147 points (72G, 75A) and 122 penalty minutes in 180 games with St. John’s and the Chicago Wolves. He was originally drafted by the Anaheim Ducks in the second round, 39th overall, in the 2008 NHL Draft.
