Winnipeg Jets recall Axel Jonsson-Fjallby; move Nino Niederreiter to non-roster status

What goes down (yesterday) must come up (today) as the Jets announced that they have recalled Axel Jonsson-Fjallby from the Moose. They assigned him there yesterday which was likely just to save cap space/a day on the 30 day roster rule for a player who has cleared waivers.

In order to do so they moved Nino Niederreiter to non-roster status since he won’t be in Winnipeg until later tonight and with him they are at the roster limit of 23. As per Sara Orlesky of the Jets the team hopes to have him in the lineup on Tuesday when they face the Kings.

Jonsson-Fjallby played one game in the loss to the Avalanche on Friday since he cleared waivers back on February 14th.
