At the virtual draft this year Winnipeg selected Dmitri Kuzmin in the 3rd round. He signed a three-year ELC with the Jets and was expected to play in Flint where he had committed to back in 2020. He didn’t get right into training camp as he dealt with both a VISA issue and a minor injury issue. He did get on the ice for a few days and while not the biggest guy seems to have some good hockey sense.
The Jets selected Tyrel Bauer at the 2020 NHL draft in the 6th round but the Seattle Thunderbirds defenceman didn’t get a chance to come to Winnipeg for a development camp due to COVID. Quick impression of Bauer is he is a big boy who isn’t afraid to mix it up.
Both players are off to their respective junior teams after just over a week at Jets training camp.
This means the Jets roster at camp is down to 42 players.
