Winnipeg Jets re-assign eight players from 2017-18 training camp

We had a fairly good idea as to what moves were going to be made by the Jets when coach Maurice made his groupings on Friday, a day he was having retired referee Paul Devorski come work with his players on ice.  The bench boss of Winnipeg had been clear that he would be down to a single group by Monday and that cuts were coming today.

The news first broke this morning that the team had placed five players on waivers including:

Michael Hutchinson
Julian Melchiori
Buddy Robinson
Cam Schilling
Mike Sgarbossa

And now the team has announced another eight players have been re-assigned. Seven to the Moose:

Mason Appleton
Chase De Leo
Jansen Harkins
Sami Niku
Nelson Nogier
Jamie Phillips
Jimmy Lodge

As well as Logan Stanley back to his junior team.

This leaves Winnipeg with 19 forwards, nine defencemen and three goalies.  Here is the updated list of players remaining at camp.
