We learned on Tuesday that Jets prospect Nikita Chibrikov (2021 2nd) would be out long-term after suffering a lower-body injury on Sunday against the Marlies. He had been going for a hit and appeared to hit a rut which caused him to drop. He would leave the ice without putting any weight on his right leg. When I spoke with Moose head coach Mark Morrison yesterday he said that Chibrikov was meeting with doctors so they’d have a better idea of the path forward for him and timeline.
I was told today that Chibrikov’s season is over.
The prospect was leading the Moose in points (7G 11A for 18 points in 30 games). He also had two goals and one assist for the Jets in the four games he played this season when he was recalled earlier this year.

It is incredibly disappointing for both the player and the organization as he was developing nicely in his second full season since coming over from Russia.
