There was some thought that once Jets 2017 2nd round draft pick Dylan Samberg had completed his sophomore season at the University of Minnesota-Duluth he would be making the jump to the pro ranks. Especially after he and the Bulldogs won a second straight NCAA national title back on April 13th.
His potential availability would help the Jets/Moose organization as they could use a left shooting D man in the prospect pool but this will have to wait as Duluth News Tribune reporter Matt Wellens confirmed today that Samberg will be returning to the Bulldogs for his junior season to challenge for a third straight NCAA national title.
You can read Wellens column here: Hermantown’s Samberg returning to Bulldogs for run at another title.
