Looks like Jets 2018 2nd rounder David Gustafsson will be sticking around in Sweden a little bit longer as the NHL waits to get going for the 2020-21 season. He’s been a point per game since joining Tingsryds putting up six goals and nine assists in 15 games.
His club put out an article today indicating that the loan agreement has been extended past November. Here is the comment from the coach Magnus Bogren (translated):
“We are happy that we extended with David who was loaned out on a short-term contract until the end of November. David will stay with us for the time being, but the NHL club Winnipeg Jets has the right to recall him, says Magnus Bogren.”
Gustafsson has looked good so far with his Swedish club receiving three star of the night award (across the league) after scoring this shootout game winner for Tingsryds.
Update:
Gustafsson had a goal (see it here) and an assist in today’s big 9-3 win which gives him 17 pts (7G 10A) in 16 games.
