Jets prospect Brayden Yager was named captain in Moose Jaw back in early October (although he was traded to Lethbridge earlier this month) and now he’s been named captain of the Canadian team for the World Juniors which gets underway in Ottawa soon.
The Saskatoon product was having a solid season for a Warriors team that took a big step back from the one that won the WHL Championship last season producing 11 goals and 19 assists for 30 points in 21 games. He was dealt to the Hurricanes on December 2nd and has one goal and three assists in two games with Lethbridge.
Canada plays their first game of the Tournament on December 26th against Finland.
