We have spent a lot of time during the 2023-24 season for the Manitoba Moose detailing the exploits of Winnipeg Jets 2022 1st rounder Brad Lambert who is in his first full AHL season. He played 14 games last year before being assigned to Seattle of the WHL where he moved to the middle of the ice.
The Moose kept him at centre for this season and the Finnish product has really blossomed playing up the middle. Helps that he’s played alongside veteran winger Jeff Malott for most (58 of 62) of his games this season.
From the Moose:
Lambert, 20, is tied for the Moose lead with 52 points (20G, 32A) in 62 games this season. He is also second among all AHL rookies in points and has the third-most points all-time by a Moose rookie. Lambert is one of nine rookies in Moose history to score 20 goals in a season and the mark ties him for seventh among all AHL rookies. The 2022 Winnipeg Jets first round pick’s 32 assists are tied for fourth among AHL rookies. Lambert is also tied for fifth among the group with seven power play goals and tied for third with 14 power play assists. Lambert’s 162 shots on goal are fifth among first-year skaters.
He’s also risen up the All-Time lists for Moose rookies this season as we’ve been detailing. His 20 goals and 32 assists for 52 points in 62 games puts him two back of Sami Niku for 2nd on All-Time Moose rookie points list. His 32 apples ties him for 5th on the Assist list for rookies with JC Lipon.
Might he see his first NHL game tomorrow against the Canucks? Rick Bowness wouldn’t reveal anything as he wanted the Moose to remain focused on the Admirals who they play in Milwaukee as they still have a chance to earn home-ice advantage.
