According to Jason Bell of the Winnipeg Free Press a number of the injured Winnipeg players (and extra goalie Michael Hutchinson) were out skating prior to the 2 pm practice for the Jets. This group included Drew Stafford, Mathieu Perreault, Marko Dano and Ben Chiarot.
Mathieu Perreault is also skating with the main group of Jets according to Jason. Via Brian Munz of TSN 1290 no Patrik Laine (will likely be meeting Jets in St. Louis following his All-Star appearance) and no Jacob Trouba on the ice for today’s skate.
Update: Following skate and before leaving coach Maurice provided updates on Perreault, Stafford, Dano, Chiarot and Myers. Click here.
Audio:
Mathieu Perreault: How did he feel out there? Is he targeting one of these games this week? Did he lose the nail? What did he think of the slash? Why would Perry do that? Is that something the league should discipline? On Perry’s reputation. On the slash interrupting his getting back into the flow. Importance of the games this week.
Bryan Little: On not giving up on the year. Does it feel like the mountain is too high to climb to get into the playoff race? Does he feel like the goaltending has come around? On playing the Blues.
Coach Maurice: Status of Perreault. Other injury updates. Did the team look refreshed on the ice today? Impact/progression of Bryan Little. On which way he is leaning in goal (explanation on why as well). On why the Jets get up for playing the Hawks/Blues. What has he seen in the last few weeks that has given him confidence in this group? Copp’s role in the top 6.
