No skate today for  the Jets before the team left for Alberta where they will take on the Flames tomorrow night and the Oilers on Sunday.  Prior to departing we hear from some players and the Jets bench boss.

Player audio:

Josh Morrissey:  First (regular season) NHL game back home in Calgary.  Nobody left that he idolizes on the Flames.  How many tickets did he need for tomorrow’s game?  What best describes the state of this team after 30 games?  How would he gauge his start in the first 30 games?  What is the trick to playing with Byfuglien?  Never shocked when he sees Byfuglien behind opposition net?

Adam Lowry:  What best describes the state of this team after 30 games?  What are the most pressing issues for the Jets?  Can they use last weekend as a building block for the upcoming games in Alberta?  Is the team happy with how they managed this stretch of schedule?

Mathieu Perreault:  What best describes the state of this team after 30 games?  Given the injuries and schedule, would he find it acceptable to have their current record?  Have they given themselves to play in the post-season?  On the stick infractions that have hurt the club and how do they address it?  What does this team need to change for this weekend?  On his relationship with Kyle Connor.  On the playing time Kyle Connor will get with the Moose.

Coach Maurice audio:

Paul Maurice:  What went into the thinking of sending Kyle Connor to the Moose. Given the injuries and schedule, would he find it acceptable to have their current record?  How does he feel about the current record?  What are the most pressing issues facing his team?  On the penalties the Jets are taking.  Does he treat penalties that players take differently?  No need to bring hammer down?  On the Jets identity.  When this team is healthy does this team feel they are one of the best in the league?  Is there any reason this team should not be a playoff team this year?  Are they getting the goaltending they need?

Working hard on a daily basis to provide the latest Winnipeg Jets and Manitoba Moose news for our readers and listeners. I also appear on the Illegal Curve Hockey Show every Saturday on our YouTube channel as well as the Illegal Curve Post-Game Show after every single Jets game. And I occasionally jump in the play-by-play booth at Canada Life to provide colour analysis during Manitoba Moose games.
