Winnipeg Jets Practice Report

The Jets practiced on Monday as they continued to prepare for three games away from Winnipeg to kick off the post-Olympic break portion of the schedule. It would appear that they will be doing that without Josh Morrissey for a bit of time as per Darren Dreger although all head coach Scott Arniel would only commit to advising that his top pairing defender will miss their game on Wednesday.

The team recalled goalie prospect Domenic DiVincentiis from the Moose as he will backup Eric Comrie with the team not planning on playing Connor Hellebuyck after he led the United States to gold.

Recall news:

The Jets announced that they had recalled Kale Clague from the Moose.

IR skate:

Only Colin Miller participated. Eventually defenceman Haydn Fleury, who is dealing with an injury, joined him but in a regular jersey ahead of Jets practice along with recently recalled Clague.

Roster:

Trying to do math today as head coach Scott Arniel said Jets have to be at a 23-man roster.Right now they are at 28 with recalls. Four on IR takes them to 24.

No longer see Connor Hellebuyck on NHL media site so suspect he’s “exempted”.

I wonder if Neal Pionk, who was expected to return tomorrow against the Canucks, might not be quite there yet given the Clague recall.

Will have to see how it all plays out and what updates we get from Jets head coach Scott Arniel.
