The Jets, like most teams that face the Lightning, lost last night as they kept it close before the Bolts pulled away with a 4-1 win over Winnipeg. After looking like they were starting to get it together (5-1-1 stretch) the Jets have gone 1-2-1 in their last four and remain 10 points back (with a game in hand) on the last wild card spot with 29 games remaining.
According to Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Free Press the only injured player who has been skating has been Neal Pionk so we shall have to wait and see if there is an update on him. The last assessment from head coach Scott Arniel four days ago was that none of the three (Haydn Fleury & Colin Miller as well as Pionk) were expected to play before the Olympic break next week.
Skate news:
Wieber reporting that Neal Pionk on the ice in a non-contact uniform. He also indicated that a number of players are testing their Olympic gloves out as well as the line and D pairs below.
He said Hellebuyck went through his starting routine as there won’t be a morning skate tomorrow given the game is a matinee.
