The Jets suffered their seventh defeat in the last ten games last night as they dropped the first game of the road trip in Washington to the Capitals. They hit the ice in Carolina today for an optional practice as they prepare to take on the Hurricanes.
Biggest health question mark is regarding Neal Pionk who is on the road trip but skating on his own (and to a lesser degree Haydn Fleury although he remains in Winnipeg). From a lineup perspective there is a question as to when/if goalie prospect Thomas Milic will make his NHL debut.
Skate news:
Mike McIntyre of the Winnipeg Free Press who is on the road indicating that the following players are not participating in the optional including: Scheifele, Connor, Lowry, Toews, Namestnikov, Iafallo. He also said practice is being run by the assistants as head coach Scott Arniel isn’t on the ice.
According to Mike defenceman Neal Pionk is in a regular sweater so perhaps he could return to the lineup as soon as tomorrow night. He also observed defenceman Dylan Samberg taking shots on Thomas Milic which could, with no morning skate on Friday, be a tell that he might be making his NHL debut.
