The Jets are coming off a disappointing 2–1 loss to the Sharks on Friday night, decided by a third-period goal from the home side. The broadcast revealed that Winnipeg spent 8–9 hours on the tarmac trying to get to Northern California, which may have contributed to their sluggish performance.

Now back in the southern part of the state, the Jets will wrap up their California swing against the Pacific Division–leading Ducks, who face the Golden Knights in Vegas this evening.

The biggest question mark for Winnipeg remains the status of Cole Perfetti, who practiced in a regular jersey yesterday for the first time since suffering a lower-body injury during training camp.

Skate news:

According to radio colour analyst Mitchell Clinton, three players were in yellow non-contact jerseys: Dylan Samberg, Gustav Nyquist, and Morgan Barron, the most recent addition to the list of skating wounded.

According to Murat Ates of The Athletic Winnipeg it was an optional practice today.

Health news:

Why is it being an optional relevant? Murat indicated that head coach Scott Arniel said “Cole Perfetti is getting “closer” but needs a full practice first”. Starting tomorrow the Jets play every other day this week so we won’t know their practice schedule until likely after the game against the Ducks.
