The Jets are getting set to end the regular season tomorrow night when they host the Ducks. Before they do they have an optional practice today at hockey for all centre.
Pre-skate news:
Got here early for Moose practice and they were on the ice but so was Jets winger Gabriel Vilardi who was doing some work this morning. He looked good. That’s a good sign for Winnipeg as the playoffs draw near.
Skate news:
It’s a heavily attended optional which included Dylan Samberg which is a big sigh of relief for the Jets and their playoff aspirations. Healthy players not skating are Kyle Connor, Dylan DeMelo and Brandon Tanev.
Injury update:
While it was mostly good news for the Jets it’s not good news on Nikolaj Ehlers. Head coach Scott Arniel says he is week-to-week as he re-aggravated his injury after colliding with the linesman.
No NHL Debut:
We thought that Jets 2022 2nd rounder Elias Salomonsson would be making his NHL debut tomorrow night but head coach Scott Arniel tossed cold water on that theory saying “no” when asked if he would get into the game. Sounds like they want their full lineup (of healthy players) to be ready to go for game one of the playoffs.
All 82 games this season:
The Jets will have six players (Scheifele, Connor, Niederreiter, Iafallo, DeMelo and Perfetti) play every single game this season which for Perfetti will be the first time in his career.
