The Jets are clearly prioritizing rest and recovery right now as they took Sunday and Monday off, played on Tuesday and today held an optional skate as they turn their focus from last night’s historic 5-2 win over the Predators to the Kings who they will face on Friday.

Big, actually huge question mark, is the status of Josh Morrissey who left the game in the 2nd period yesterday, returned for one shift and then left the game for good. After the game the first question to head coach Scott Arniel was about the health of 44. He didn’t have much insight simply stating that “Lower-body. We’ll see how he is tomorrow. Obviously couldn’t play the rest of the game there, fell into the goal post.”

Skate news:

Players are slowly filtering onto the ice for today’s optional. Haydn Fleury sporing a yellow, non-contact jersey is skating today. Dylan Samberg skating in a regular jersey for the second straight day.

Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Free Press reported that Colin Miller was on the ice earlier skating and he left the ice about 10-15 minutes into the optional getting underway.

Health update:

Would appear to be some good news on the Josh Morrissey front. Following practice he indicated that 44 was “feeling good” and that he was getting treatment. He wouldn’t rule him out for next game or even the next practice. So stay tuned for tomorrow.
