The Jets are coming off a big 5-0 win over their division rival Wild which kept them atop the NHL standings with their 49th point of the season. It was an impressive win that saw them get contributions from across the roster.
Today they will hit the ice for a skate as they get ready to conclude the pre-Christmas portion of the schedule tomorrow afternoon against the Leafs in Toronto. While they did lose their last game they are a formidable opponent who sit in 1st place in the Atlantic Division with a 21-11-2 record. They are also a very good home team (14-5-0) although they are dealing with the loss of goalie Anthony Stolarz for 4-6 weeks with a knee injury and they didn’t have captain Auston Matthews in their 6-3 loss on Saturday to the Islanders. Based on what head coach Craig Berube said after the game it sure sounds like he won’t play Monday against Winnipeg.
Of course Winnipeg has a question of their own as their captain Adam Lowry left the game approaching the midpoint of the 3rd period in their 5-0 win over the Wild on Saturday night. After the game head coach Scott Arniel said number 17 “should be fine” but the real insight comes the next day usually.
Skate news:
According to Kelly Moore of 680 CJOB no Adam Lowry and Nikolaj Ehlers are not skating.
Health news:
