The Jets have until today to get to a 23-man roster which has been the focus of many folks in Winnipeg with 28 on the roster heading into this morning. The only move they made over the weekend was placing Jaret Anderson-Dolan on waivers. We will learn at 1 PM CT if he clears and can be assigned to the Moose.

With Ville Heinola and Logan Stanley expected to be placed on IR it leaves Winnipeg with 26 players.

Roster move:

The Jets announced they had assigned forwards Brad Lambert and Nikita Chibrikov to the Moose which got them down to 24 left in camp and means they have one further move to make today.

Skate news:

A bit of an eyebrow raiser today at hockey for all centre as 23 of 24 skaters remaining on the roster took to the ice with the exception of two-time Vezina winner Connor Hellebuyck. We will have to wait to hear from head coach Scott Arniel as to why he is missing.

Actually we won’t have to wait to end the speculation as Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Free Press tweeted this about 37:

“Just to quell the speculation before it spins out of control on social media, a source says that #NHLJets G Connor Hellebuyck is not dealing with an injury. Arniel will provide an update on his absence after today’s practice.”

That will have folks breathing a sigh of relief.

Hellebuyck update:

As per the Jets bench boss Scott Arniel, Connor Hellebuyck is away dealing with a personal family matter but the expectation is he will be on the plane to Edmonton.
