The Jets are feeling good having won five straight games with the best win of the bunch coming last night in their 3-0 defeat of the first place Stars in Dallas. They hadn’t won against them at all this season and that felt like quite the statement win. They have now tied the Avalanche for points in the Central with 104 but Winnipeg holds the tiebreaker which makes tomorrow afternoon’s game quite the one to watch.
Skate news:
As per Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Free Press a number of players didn’t skate including Laurent Brossoit, Neal Pionk, Brenden Dillon, Adam Lowry, Sean Monahan and Mason Appleton. He confirmed that Connor Hellebuyck gets the start in Denver.
Niederreiter update:
While the team was hopeful number 62 would be available for the game tomorrow head coach Rick Bowness confirmed he will not play on Saturday.
Projected lineup vs Avs:
Connor-Scheifele-Vilardi
Ehlers-Monahan-Toffoli
Gustafsson-Lowry-Appleton
Barron-Namestnikov-Iafallo
Morrissey-DeMelo
Dillon-Pionk
Stanley-Samberg
Bowness said he expects to use the same lineup as he did last night in Dallas but did acknowledge in his media availability that a couple guys are banged up and that they’ll have an extra forward and defecneman on the ice for warm-up.
