After a tough 4-1 loss to the Stars last night in Texas which cost the Jets a chance to end the night in top spot in the Central, Winnipeg remained in the Lone Star State for a practice before they jetted off to Carolina where they will take on the Hurricanes tomorrow.
The big question mark is the status of Gabriel Vilardi who didn’t play towards the end of the game as he was dealing with an upper-body injury according to head coach Rick Bowness.
Skate news:
Missing from skate as per Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Free Press are Gabriel Vilardi, Nikolaj Ehlers, Sean Monahan and Mason Appleton.
Goalie rotation:
As there will be a back-to-back with games on Saturday and Sunday the goalie rotation will be Connor Hellebuyck against the Hurricanes and Laurent Brossoit against the Sabres as per head coach Rick Bowness.
Health news:
On Gabriel Vilardi this is what Rick Bowness said after skate although it ended up pertaining to all the guys missing from skate:
“Well we’re hoping that he’s going to play tomorrow. We’ll see. All the guys that missed practice today they’ll be game-time decisions.”
Asked if Vilardi woke up feeling better he added:
“No not necessarily but we’ll see how he feels tomorrow.”
Potential Lineup Changes:
Ken asked if there were plans for any lineup changes to which the Jets bench boss said:
“Yeah there probably will be a couple of changes. We won’t know our lineup until we get to the rink tomorrow. Simple as that.”
