The Jets picked up their fourth straight loss (0-3-1) last night as they dropped the game in Pittsburgh by a final score of 3-0 for the Penguins. It was the third time in seven games they had been shutout. Not only did they lose the game but they lost defenceman Brenden Dillon who was given a match penalty and then the question became would there be supplemental discipline?

The organization is also waiting to hear what is going to be the fate of  Axel Jonsson-Fjällby who was put on waivers yesterday. We will know by 1 PM CST if he cleared or was claimed. (Update: He passed through waivers and will be assigned to the Moose).

Pre-practice news:

The news came out this morning that Dillon would have a phone hearing with Player Safety for the hit on Noel Acciari which was deemed an illegal check to the head. The significance of it being a phone hearing means the max suspension cannot exceed five games.

Skate news:

As per Mike McIntyre of the Winnipeg Free Press the D pairs have changed in anticipation of a suspension to Dillon. Right now the only extra D man available is Logan Stanley after Declan Chisholm was claimed off waivers last week. If they want to recall Ville Heinola that move would necessitate putting someone (Toninato) on waivers as the roster is maxed out.

Lines and D pairs:

Connor-Scheifele-Vilardi
Perfetti-Monahan-Ehlers
Niederreiter-Lowry-Appleton
Barron-Namestnikov-Iafallo
Kupari-Gustafsson

Morrissey-DeMelo
Samberg-Pionk
Stanley-Schmidt
Dillon-Toninato

Tips:

The NHL has made embedding videos more difficult this season. You need to “Accept All Cookies” and then you’ll have to scroll down a little in their window to see the video.

Topics:

1) D pairs in anticipation that Brenden Dillon will get suspended?
2) What would he be looking for from Logan Stanley if he plays tomorrow?
3) Was it a tough conversation with AJF letting him know he’s on waivers?
4) The offensive slump players are in right now.
5) Might we see mixing and matching amongst the lines?
6) Might he consider putting Ehlers back with Scheifele & Vilardi?
7) Benefit of Nate Schmidt’s talking for Logan Stanley.
