After picking up their first shootout win of the season last night over the Kraken (in their first shootout of the season) the Jets hit the ice for a skate before they head out to Columbus to kick off four games on the road. The big question mark was the status of goalie Connor Hellebuyck who missed the game last night against Seattle due to illness.

Other morning news:

As I was at Moose morning skate out at the IcePlex I noted that Arvid Holm wasn’t with the AHL club of Winnipeg and neither was assistant coach Eric Dubois. In case you were wondering Jets assistant coach Brad Lauer is dealing with a back issue and Dubois was up with the big club helping out. Recently assigned Axel Jonsson-Fjällby was present rocking a number 49 uniform.

Jets skate news:

According to Scott Billeck of the Winnipeg Sun it was a three goalie practice with Connor Hellebuyck hitting the ice for ten minutes. He also indicated that Nate Schmidt didn’t skate. Lines and D pairs are courtesy of Scott.

Health update:

As per head coach Rick Bowness they will be taking Connor Hellebuyck on the road and Arvid Holm will return (and be playing) for the Moose this evening.  He added that Nate Schmidt took a maintenance day.
