The Jets left Texas with a controversial 5-4 OT win over the Stars last night in a game many observers felt should never have required extra time. While it will likely be a subject of conversation on the old interweb and tonight on HNIC the fact is Winnipeg left with two points and find themselves just three points back of Dallas for top spot in the Central (with two games in hand).
Today they practice in Chicago as they prepare to conclude their three-game road trip tomorrow against the Hawks who have hit the skids of late going 2-6-2 in their last ten games and sitting last in the Central Division.
Skate news:
Couple of notes from Scott Billeck of the Winnipeg Sun who is at the United Center for practice. Goalie Connor Hellebuyck isn’t skating today which he feels is maintenance. He also added that Morgan Barron has shed his non-contact uniform. According to Mike McIntyre of the Winnipeg Free Press the top goalie for the Jets will be speaking after practice so that’s a sign that he is probably taking a maintenace day.
