The Jets went a perfect 3-0 on this most recent home stand which included a 4-1 defeat of the Golden Knights last night. They have two games remaining on the schedule before the Player & All-Star breaks gets underway on January 20th. The first will be against division rival Predators in Nashville and sets up quite nicely as the teams sit 1st (Jets) and 2nd (Preds) in the Central with Winnipeg holding two games in hand. Nashville have been hot going 6-2-2 in their last 10 games including a 7-2 defeat of the defending Stanley Cup champion Capitals last night.
Pre-Practice News:
The Jets announced that Cam Schilling has been recalled from the Moose. Would appear that Ben Chairot isn’t ready to go so the team will need some insurance for the road trip. Coach Maurice will provide an update following practice.
Practice Notes:
As per Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun it is an optional practice today with just seven skaters and two goalies.
Audio:
Dmitry Kulikov
Connor Hellebuyck
Brandon Tanev
Coach Maurice: Is there an update on Ben Chiarot? How does he find the balance for Hellebuyck/Brossoit? Would he split the goalie starts over the next two on the road? Is there a benefit to Hellebuyck having a burr under his saddle? (b/c he didn’t get start vs Vegas). On the little things that Wheeler does. Does he see a difference in Kulikov’s game of late? Is he surprised in Kyle Connor’s consistency?

Health News:
Coach Maurice was asked if there was an update on Ben Chiarot after the team recalled Cam Schilling earlier in the morning “No. There’s no update. We didn’t want to be short one on the trip.”
