The Jets finished their ten-game home stand with a solid 6-2-1 record.  They will now head out on the road for a pair of games starting in St. Louis on Friday and then Dallas on Saturday.

Recalled/Assigned:

After playing for the Moose last night the Jets have recalled Tucker Poolman.  The rookie defenceman hadn’t played a game since a January 1st contest for the Jets against the Golden Knights.  He played a solid game last night for a Manitoba club that beat Milwaukee 6-3 considering he hadn’t played much of late.

Following practice Jets coach Paul Maurice announced the team has assigned Eric Comrie back to the Manitoba Moose with the return to health of goalies Michael Hutchinson and Steve Mason (see below for a further health update).

Practice notes:

Mitchell Clinton of Jets TV indicated “No changes to #NHLJets lines as practice gets underway. Tanev practicing in non-contact.Hellebuyck, Mason, and Hutchinson are the goaltenders on the ice.”

Lines from last game:

Connor – Scheifele – Wheeler
Perreault – Little – Roslovic
Ehlers – Copp – Laine
Petan – Hendricks – Armia

Morrissey – Myers
Enstrom – Byfuglien
Chiarot – Kulikov

Coach Maurice:  Updates on Hutchinson/Mason.  Would he consider Hellebuyck back-to-back?  On the mindset going into this weekend’s games?  Tanev/Lowry/Matthias/Trouba updates.  On Blake Wheeler’s comments about school safety.  On his backups for these two games?  Has he decided whether Hellebuyck will play both?  On Nic Petan’s penalty late in the game?  Penalty numbers similar to last season.

Health Updates:

With a number of goalies back on the ice for practice Jets bench boss provided an update on Michael Hutchinson and Steve Mason “Both cleared to play.  So they’ll get back into the full routine, Eric Comrie has been returned to the Moose today.  Michael is probably ahead of Steve just with the amount of time Steve has had off the ice.  Michael will backup tomorrow.”

Coach Maurice also touched on his other injured players including Adam Lowry, Shawn Matthias, Jacob Trouba and Brandon Tanev indicating that “Lowry and Matthias skated this morning.  IR skate on their own.  Trouba is not ready to get back on the ice yet.  Tanev is non-contact, I don’t know that I have him in these back-to-back but if he continues to progress we’ll look at Nashville.”
