The Jets were originally slated to practice at 12 noon but are instead holding a media availability. They have one game left in this really successful ten-game home stand having already gone 6-2-1. The Jets sit first in the Central Division with a 35-15-9 record which is good enough for a two point lead on the Predators, although Nashville has two games in hand. Coach Maurice won’t be speaking today.
The final game of this home stand will see the Jets welcome the Kings to town who first have to play tonight in Chicago before flying to Winnipeg for tomorrow night’s game. While L.A. sits two points back of a wild card spot right now they have proven adept on the road with a better record away from the Staples Center than what they have managed at home.
Practice notes:
Mike McIntyre of the Winnipeg Free Press indicating “Steve Mason, working his way back from second concussion, taking shots from handful of skaters including Tanev, Matthias (both in no-contact), Dano, Poolman and Petan.”.
