Notable:

Nice little warm-up story as Jets winger Nikolaj Ehlers made this young fan’s night. He saw her sign, gave our Illegal Curve photog Colby Spence a puck through his camera hole to give to her and then waved/smiled at her during the skate.

Lots of international flavour in Winnipeg for tonight’s Jets game. Not an insignificant journey from New Zealand to Manitoba (13,330 km) so we hope this young fan got a puck during Jets warm-up. And this fan is here all the way from Korea (9,082 km). And evidently there is also someone here from Australia (14,668 km) to cheer on the Jets.

Mark Scheifele was recognized for being named NHL 1st Star of the Week which happened earlier today. Gives a wave to the Winnipeg crowd who shower him with applause.

There was plenty of consternation from Jets nation when folks heard that Logan Stanley would be paired with Neal Pionk but they acquitted themselves well during the game.

Dylan DeMelo gets his first of the season which comes 41 games after his last goal which was also against Nashville.

Winnipeg went ‘bang bang’ as Dennis Beyak would say as Gabriel Vilardi scored a pair of power play goals to break open the game late in the 3rd.

And Connor Hellebuyck picked up the 42nd shutout of his career.

Jets improve to 19-0-1 when taking a lead into the 3rd period.

Health update:

One piece of news post-game from head coach Scott Arniel is that Mason Appleton is out “week-to-week”.

Multipoint Game:

Gabriel Vilardi 2G
Kyle Connor 2A
Nikolaj Ehlers 2A
