Notable:
Didn’t take long for Winnipeg to get going in this one as Vlad Namestnikov scored his 5th goal of the season as PP2 strikes early to give the Jets a 1-0 lead. After scoring 11 in 78 last season he’s got 5 in 10.
About eight minutes or so into the game Gustav Nyquist left for to the room. Didn’t see what happened but the walk to the room didn’t look good.
After the Hawks tied the game with an unusual bounce, the top line struck as Gabriel Vilardi made it a 2-1 game with his third of the season. Perfect pass by Mark Scheifele and really nice play by Kyle Connor to draw in a Hawks player and make a soft touch pass to 55 to start the 2 on 1.
Mark Scheifele with his team (and tied for NHL league leading) 9th goal of the season made it 3-1 for the Jets. Kyle Connor with the silky smooth move to avoid a hit and then feed 55 the puck.
The team ruled out Gustav Nyquist for the rest of the game.
Gabriel Vilardi with his second of the game (and could have had three already) to make it 4-1.
And now future Hall of Famer Jonathan Toews has against his old team as he got the secondary assist on the first goal of the season for Josh Morrissey.
Hawks forward Andre Burakovsky says I’m gonna go through my legs and Logan Stanley’s legs to make this goal really impressive. What a goal.
After the visitors got a couple of goals late in the 3rd, Kyle Connor scored an absolutely filthy goal.
Multi Point Game:
Gabriel Vilardi 2G 1A
Mark Scheifele 1G 2A
Kyle Connor 1G 2A
