The Jets hit the ice for another day of practice on the first official day of the playoffs with games finally getting underway to kick off the 2023-24 post-season. Obviously Winnipeg won’t be in action until tomorrow but the excitement in this province is palpable.
The big question, and really the only real one, was who would be replacing Morgan Barron on the 4th line as head coach Rick Bowness announced on Friday that the forward would miss game 1.

As per the eagle eyes of Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Free Press the player replacing Barron is David Gustafsson, which was the player we were expecting to draw back in. Wieber provides the lines and D pairs from hockey for all centre.

Some significant injury news from Colorado as the team announced that Jonathan Drouin is out for the first round vs Winnipeg with a lower-body injury. That’s a big blow to the Avs as he had 19 goals and 37 assists for 56 points in 79 games during the season.
