Winnipeg Jets players get new numbers for 2020-21 season

A new season means new Jets numbers.

Paul Stastny isn’t really getting a new number since he wore 25 with the Jets during his previous stint back in 2017-18.  Last year’s trade deadline acquisition Dylan DeMelo, fresh off signing a four-year contract with Winnipeg, will be wearing number 2.

The new faces will be rocking:

Derek Forbort – 24
Dominic Toninato – 21
Nate Thompson – 11

The team did an interesting story on Nate Thompson wearing number 11 in honour of Rick Rypien.  You can read that here.

As we usually do when players take on new numbers we look at which players wore it previously in Jets history:

#2 – Anthony Bitetto (2020) & Adam Pardy (2014-2016)
#21 – Nick Shore (2020), Quinton Howden (2017), T.J. Galiardi (2015) & Aaron Gagnon (2012-2013)
#24 – Grant Clitsome (2012-2015)
