Winnipeg Jets players get new numbers for 2016-17 season

Last year it was the rookies (Copp, Petan and Ehlers) getting new numbers and this season we will see some change as well as forwards Shawn Matthias will wear #16, Quinton Howden is going with #21, Alexander Burmistrov will change things up (again) as he switches to #91 while defenceman Mark Strait goes with #47 and as I wrote about earlier, goalie Connor Hellebuyck will don #37 after receiving support from the Snyder family.

Who wore the # previously:

#16 is now Shawn Matthias but was worn by former captain Andrew Ladd (2015-16).

#21 will be worn by local product Quinton Howden but previously by T.J. Galiardi (2014-15).

#37 returns with Connor Hellebuyck who received the support of the Snyder family for the number last worn by their son Dan Snyder (2002-03).

#47 goes to Mark Strait and you have to go back to the Thrashers days to when Rich Peverley wore it (2010-11).

#91 will be the third number worn by Alexander Burmistrov but had been donned by Jiri Tlusty (2014-15).
