Winnipeg Jets place Nate Schmidt on IR; recall Ville Heinola

Not a surprise after the hit that Nate Schmidt took in last night’s game that he has been placed on IR by the Jets.

Head coach Rick Bowness said post-game that he had been placed in concussion protocol.

While he is on injured reserve the Jets have recalled Ville Heinola from the Moose on an emergency basis. It’s interesting given Heinola has missed the last four games due to illness.
