Winnipeg Jets place Kyle Connor on IR; recall Dominic Toninato from the Manitoba Moose on emergency basis

The Jets are 3/4 through their four-game road trip which currently finds them in southern California getting set to take on the Kings tonight in Los Angeles.

The team left Winnipeg rather lean as they had 13 forwards but one of those 13 was injured forward Vlad Namestnikov who was able to return to the lineup on Sunday in their 4-2 win over the Ducks. However that game proved costly as top goal scorer Kyle Connor left the game in the 2nd period and looked to suffer a fairly substantial injury.

Today the team announced they’ve recalled Dominic Toninato (as expected) from Manitoba ahead of their game against the Kings.

The expectation is that Axel Jonsson-Fjallby will be the 12th forward and Toninato will be insurance.

In nine games with Manitoba this season he has two goals and four assists. He’s spent quite a bit of time up with Winnipeg as the 13th forward.
