Winnipeg Jets place Kyle Connor on IR; recall Chase De Leo from Moose

Doesn’t come as a big surprise that the Jets have placed Kyle Connor on IR after he sustained a 1st period injury against the Kings on Sunday.  Perhaps the surprise was that he stayed in the game for the 2nd and 3rd periods (although looking at his usage he was used somewhat sparingly).  He goes to the IR and the Jets recall Chase De Leo who just had two goals for the Moose in a losing effort the other night.  Having watched all the Moose home games this season I can tell you that De Leo seems like a player who is ready to take full advantage of this opportunity.

We also learned at the same time as the Jets announced this news that Kyle Clifford won’t face any supplemental discipline for the hit.

Jets Release:

The Winnipeg Jets Hockey Club, in conjunction with its AHL affiliate, the Manitoba Moose, announced today they have recalled forward Chase De Leo from the Moose and placed forward Kyle Connor on injured reserve with an upper-body injury.

De Leo, 21, has seven points (3G, 4A) in 12 games with Manitoba this season. He has 47 career AHL points (22G, 25A) in 85 games over two seasons following four years with the WHL’s Portland Winterhawks. Last year, De Leo played in two games with the Jets. The native of La Mirada, Calif., was selected by Winnipeg in the fourth round, 99th over-all at the 2014 NHL Draft.
