Kane’s move to the IR is retroactive to January 7th, 2014. Klingberg played 6 NHL games with the Jets during the 2011-12 season and none last year. He is still looking for his first career NHL point.
Jets Release:
The Winnipeg Jets today announced they have recalled forward Carl Klingberg from the St. John’s IceCaps of the American Hockey League. The Winnipeg Jets also announced they have placed forward Evander Kane on the Injured Reserve List retroactive to Jan. 7/14.
Klingberg, 22, has played in 33 games with the IceCaps so far this season. In that time, the Gothenburg, Sweden native has recorded 18 points (11G, 7A) and 20 penalty minutes. He has played in seven career NHL games between Atlanta and Winnipeg where he recorded four penalty minutes.
He was originally drafted by the Atlanta Thrashers in the second round, 34th overall, in the 2009 NHL Draft.
