Winnipeg Jets place David Gustafsson on waivers

The last few days the Jets have been paying attention to the status of Jonathan Toews but today it was confirmed he was good to play tonight in the season opener which meant Winnipeg had to make one move to get to a 23-man roster.

Accordingly head coach Scott Arniel let us know they have placed David Gustafsson on waivers.

Conventional wisdom was thinking either Brad Lambert or Parker Ford would be heading down to the Moose because both players are waiver exempt.

Instead, it is the 2018 second rounder who will be sent to the minors to join Manitoba or he will claimed by another team.
