Winnipeg Jets place Daniel Torgersson on unconditional waivers for purposes of contract termination

For the second time in a few weeks the Jets have placed a prospect on unconditional waivers for purposes of contract termination. Today the team announced that Daniel Torgersson, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2020 draft, had been placed on it.

In 12 games for the Moose in the AHL this season he didn’t have any points. The writing seemed to be on the wall and today’s move isn’t a big surprise for the 6’3 draft pick who just never really was able to put it together with any consistency for Manitoba.

In his best season he had 11G 9A for 20 points in 69 games but that was two seasons ago. He has trended down since. He played a total of 137 games in antlers scoring 14 goals with 18 assists.

Henri Nikkanen was placed on unconditional waivers for purposes of contract termination back on December 12th. He would sign a two-year deal in Liiga once he cleared. Suspect Torgersson will head back to Sweden.
