Winnipeg Jets overseas prospects report

With the only pro hockey being played these days taking place overseas we will provide a regular update on what is happening with Jets prospects or players under contract with Winnipeg who are playing in the KHL, SHL, Liiga, DEL and HockeyAllsvenskan.

Players on loan:

1. David Gustafsson

Tingsryds AIF (HockeyAllsvenskan) 10 GP 2 goals 6 assists, averaging 18:53 of ice time per game.

2. Ville Heinola

Lukko Rauma (Liiga): 8 GP 0 goals 4 assists, averaging 18:06 of ice time per game.

3. Mikhail Berdin

St. Petersburg SKA (KHL): 5-3-2, 2.52 GAA .917 save%

4. Leon Gawanke 

Eisbären Polar Bears (DEL):  Germany’s top league hasn’t yet gotten started (expected to start in mid December).

5. Joona Luoto

IFK Helsinki (Liiga): 9 GP 2 goals 2 assists, averaging 18:57 of ice time per game.

6. Arvid Holm

Farjestads BK Karlstad (SHL): 3-4-0, 2.38 GAA .929 save%

7. Kristian Vesalainen 

HPK (Liiga): Was loaned to this Finnish club last week and hasn’t yet played. His squad will next be in action on Friday against Joona Luoto’s HIFK club.

Other Jets prospects in Europe:

1. Santeri Virtanen

SaiPa Lappeenranta (Liiga): 8 GP 1 goal 1 assist, averaging 16:15 of ice time per game.  While his goal was simply him burying an opportunity the Finnish goal call is worth listening to.

2. Henri Nikkanen

Jukurit Mikkeli (Liiga): 5 GP 1 goal 3 assists, averaging 19:24 of ice time per game.

3. Simon Lundmark

Linkopings HC (SHL): 4 GP 0 goals 1 assist, averaging 11:39 of ice time per game.

4. Anton Johannesson

HV71 J20: Hasn’t played a game yet this season.

5. Daniel Torgersson

Frölunda HC J20 (J20 Nationell): 10 GP 4 goals 5 assists.
Frölunda HC (SHL): 2 GP 0 goals 0 assists, averaging 3:22 of ice time per game.

Reportedly suffered an injury that required surgery and will cost him 4-5 months. This report has not yet been confirmed.
