Winnipeg Jets overseas prospects report VII

With the only pro hockey being played these days taking place overseas we will provide a regular update on what is happening with Jets prospects or players under contract with Winnipeg who are playing in the KHL, SHL, Liiga, DEL, DEL2, Slovakian league and HockeyAllsvenskan.

Note:  Due to new COVID restrictions some Liiga clubs have had their home games cancelled between December 1st and the 20th.  This includes Kristian Vesalainen’s HPK squad.

Players on loan:

1. David Gustafsson

Tingsryds AIF (HockeyAllsvenskan) 16 GP 7 goals 10 assists, averaging 18:55 of ice time per game.

Change since last week:  1GP 1G 1A.  average ice time down 16 seconds.  Another nice goal from the 2018 2nd rounder during the last week of play. He is tied for 12th in league scoring.  We also learned last week that his loan agreement was extended as it was set to elapse at the end of November.

2. Ville Heinola

Lukko Rauma (Liiga): 18 GP 1goal 13 assists, averaging 19:46 of ice time per game.

Linkopings HC (SHL): 11 GP 0 goals 3 assist, averaging 13:02 of ice time per game.

Change since last week: 1 GP 0 goals 1 assists, average ice time up 10 seconds.  It looked like the 2019 2nd rounder had scored his first goal in the Swedish League but it was later amended to being an assist as his teammate deflected his point shot home.
