Winnipeg Jets outdoor game to be played in late October

John Shannon of Sportsnet tweeted “outdoor game in Winnipeg will take place in late October. Looking like Oilers vs Jets”.  While it will be a little colder than in the picture above there probably won’t be much, if any, snow on the ground here in Winnipeg.  This past October was pretty nice with highs of 10 and lows of 2.  The historical average is 5-7 degrees for the high and -4/-5 for the low so relatively speaking pretty mild, at least by Manitoba standards.

While it isn’t official Jets co-owner Mark Chipman indicated at his Q & A on January 23rd that the team should have an announcement with respect to the outdoor game “within a month” so this works within that timeline.

What are your thoughts on facing Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers?  Any other team you would prefer to see?

As always stay tuned to @Illegalcurve for further details.
