Winnipeg Jets Nino Niederreiter to play for Team Switzerland at World Championship

For the third straight Jets offseason winger Nino Niederreiter will be heading to the World Championship where he will play for Team Switzerland it was revealed by the Jets today. They are taking place in Sweden and Denmark.

He just finished up the first year of his three year extension he signed with the Jets the season prior. He had a solid season in Winnipeg putting up 17 goals 20 assists for 37 points in 82 games which exceeded his totals from the year before by three points. He spent most of the season on a line with Adam Lowry and Mason Appleton.

The Swiss winger finished with four goals and two assists for six points which put him sixth on the Jets in playoff scoring.

The next game for Switzerland, which is the last game before playoffs, is tomorrow when they take on Kazakhstan in Denmark.
