Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers: Today’s Hockey Headlines | Mar 19, 2026

Note: The Jets used Wednesday as a travel day heading to Boston where they will begin three games on the road. One thing we did learn was they didn’t make a player recall from the Moose which means they’ll likely be sticking with 12/7 (unless they need to make an emergency recall or if one of the injured players is ready to return) for the next little bit. Morning skate for Winnipeg gets underway at 10:30 AM CT so stay tuned for the pre-game report to ensure you’re up-to-date on the latest. Puck drop is at 6 PM CT.

Note II: This evening, after the final buzzer sounds between Winnipeg and Boston, we want you to be part of the conversation on the Illegal Curve Post-Game Show as we discuss and analyze the results of the game starting around 8:40 PM CT.

Note III: The Moose played a decent game in front of 7000 screaming kids but the Admirals took advantage of some controversial goals early in the game to help propel them to a 4-0 win over the home team. The good news is they will have a re-match this evening in Winnipeg with puck drop at 7 PM CT. Regarding the news we broke yesterday the AHL squad of Manitoba will have a new face as left-shot defence prospect Alfons Friej (2024 2nd) is set to join them this morning. We shall have to wait and see if he plays tonight.

Note IV: Speaking of prospects, over in the OHL it was a two goal night for Jacob Cloutier (2025 7th) including the game-winning goal for Saginaw.
