Note: Most of the Jets hit the ice for a practice on Wednesday although not all of them skated in Winnipeg. A number of players took a maintenance day but we did learn that Colin Miller, Haydn Fleury and now Neal Pionk are all considered week-to-week. This news necessitated the recall of Elias Salomonsson. We also learned that while Morgan Barron was not yet cleared he could be a possibility for today’s game. Morning skate for Winnipeg gets underway at 11 AM CST so stay tuned for the pre-game report to ensure you’re up-to-date on the latest. Puck drop is at 7 PM CST.
Note II: This evening, after the final buzzer sounds between Winnipeg and Minnesota, we want you to be part of the conversation on the Illegal Curve Post-Game Show as we discuss and analyze the results of the game starting around 9:40 PM CST.
Note III: The Moose travelled to Laval yesterday as they get set to conclude this six-game road trip with two games against former head coach Pascal Vincent’s new Rocket squad. He is enjoying similar success in his second season in Quebec like he had last year in his first go around with his club situated at the top of the standings.
Jets news:
Winnipeg Sun: Pionk loss ‘huge’ as Jets try to prolong streak. While it’s a big loss given how he looked against the Islanders it’s probably best he gets some rest and heals up.
Winnipeg Free Press: Jets looking to snap nine-game road losing streak against Wild. (Paywall). Given all the losing they did over the last little while it shouldn’t be surprising to see a road losing record that long but at the same time it’s still a bit of a shock.
TSN: Scheifele savours assist milestone. It really was a pretty funny situation with the fake assist followed six minutes later by the real one to get him to 500. It will likely happen sometime next season when he moves into the all-time Winnipeg lead for assists passing Wheeler (540), Hawerchuk (550) and Steen (553).

Global News: Jets have new life, but lots of work yet to do. Three wins in a row is important and points in four of five is good but this team knows how big a hole they’ve dug themselves with their putrid November and December.
