Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers: Today’s Hockey Headlines | Feb 7, 2026

Note: The Jets are on Olympic break.

Note II: The Moose couldn’t quite complete the comeback last night in Texas in a battle of two teams on winning streaks. Ultimately the Stars held on for a 2-1 victory. Re-match goes tonight at 7 PM CST in the final game before the AHL All-Star break.

Note III: Jets prospect Kevin He (2024 4th) had the primary assist on the opening goal of the game and then finished it off with a long-range empty netter in a win for Flint. Over in the NCAA, Sascha Boumedienne (2025 1st) picked up the primary assist on the GWG in OT for Boston University.

Note IV: Spend two hours with the Illegal Curve Hockey Show starting at 9 AM this morning  as Ezra, Drew and I discuss all things to do about the NHL club of Winnipeg, look around the NHL and cover things doing with the AHL club of Manitoba.

Jets news:

Global News: Jets — and their fans — need Olympic break from season to forget. No question folks are definitely exhausted from the up but mostly down nature of the 2025-26 season.

Global News: Winnipeg’s Seth Jarvis joins Canada’s Olympic men’s hockey team as Mark Scheifele gets passed over again. Had to have been difficult for 55 to get the news he had been passed over for a second time.

Working hard on a daily basis to provide the latest Winnipeg Jets and Manitoba Moose news for our readers and listeners. I also appear on the Illegal Curve Hockey Show every Saturday on our YouTube channel as well as the Illegal Curve Post-Game Show after every single Jets game. And I occasionally jump in the play-by-play booth at Canada Life to provide colour analysis during Manitoba Moose games.
